10 The only anagram I can come up with is 'Nephew Poverty" which is vaguely appropriate to Scrooge but I don't think that it's a phrase actually used in or about the book.

Also there are very few characters in the story itself, and I've already got those anyway, so I presume the other answers are something to do with Victorian culture/poverty etc.
