Yep - Stingray it was...or maybe still is somewhere in tv land.

Technically it wasn't. The sequence was:

" Stand by for Action " spoken by Cmdr Shore (as are all words). "We are about to launch Stingray". There then followed shots of Stingray doing things like chasing a mechanical fish. Next you had an outside shot of Marineville and Cmdr Shore's voice over the loudspeakers "Marineville, I am calling battlestations". Fast zoom shot to him in the control room, then he says " Anything can happen in the next half hour". I will now go and put my anorak on!!!
