Hi Stevee

I think 6 of stormin's are wrong.  That's not to say the answers I have are right. I'll tell you if I can why I think they're wrong.

Q12 - It's not Lonsborough.  I just know it's not.

Q14 - Not Wilson. This is another one which I think looks like someone else.

Q46 - Not Franklin. She didn't get this song to No.1.

Q71 - Atlanta - he's missed a vital letter out.

Q114 - stormin' says 'try googling Lothario and Rowe - I don't think it's Rowe.

Q142 Daewoo - google 'Matiz in Europe' - you should find the answer I have.

Q63 - stormin' has a different answer to the one I have, but the quizmail phoneline says there are two acceptable answers.

Hope this helps, but don't blame me if his are right and mine are wrong!

Best of luck Stevee.

Marje,

Q12. I tend to agree with you that this is not AL but have no other ideas yet.

Q14. I agree with Stormin that this is Wilson. Look at the Man. Utd. site under the biography of his better known name.

Q71. I have evidence of both spellings being correct, but don't know which they want

Q114. No idea yet

Q46, Q142, Q63 - I agree with all your comments

Hi hotrocker

Q14: Yes, you're right. I forgot that the answer should be the name they were born with.

Thanks.

Stevee,Marje and Hotrocker. Stormin also has Q28 and Q122 wrong
Thanks daithebus, I'd got the same answers as stormin' for those questions.  Googled some more and found the right answers. (I hope)
Ah..122. I have come to a conclusion on 114 (right or wrong) and onward to 122. La Clemenza di Tito and Demetrio are certainly popular in the music field. I find lots who have written both but only one which says Demetrio was lost and it does not fit all the specs.

YOU ARE KILLING THIS QUIZ.  I HOPE YOU ARE ALL PROUD OF YOURSELVES. My sympathies go out to Dave & Vic who have provided us with excellent entertainment for well over 10 years.  Why do you not just post an Answerbank Composite Team answer sheet and be done with it?

SHAME ON ALL OF YOU

Hear hear! Vic and Dave must be tearing their hair out. The majority of Quizmail questions are straightforward, but every month Vic and Dave come up with a handful of very cleverly crafted so-called dive-in questions, which will trick the unwary and give the diligent teams a chance to prove their skill. If people post these answers on a website, it does spoil the quiz for everyone else. Vic and Dave must be thinking "Why do we bother?"
I am sure Vic and Dave could not care less about what we say on this site. I have yet to score 150 from information gleaned from here, I've yet to score 150! This is the only postal quiz that gererates so much discussion on this site , GBQ and The Challenge are not inthe frame. More power to Vic and Dave, I love the controversy this Quiz generates.Has any one got a definitive answer to Q114 'cos I aint?

Bobadob

Try Googling Lothario and Theresa.

I thought I'd got the answer to Q122 but I'm not so sure now.  I'm trawling my way through all the opera composers I can find but it's a long job!

Thanks marje

Q122 Google Cecilia then search 'lost opera Demetrio' . The heroine of "Gone With the Wind" could help

Thanks Bobadob, I'll try that, it'll save me searching through a great long list of composers and their operas!

Bobadob

I'd got the name you pointed to before, but couldn't find anywhere which said that Demetrio by that composer was lost.  Obviously you have, so I'll go with that.

Thanks.
