How do you know?

How do you know which paper/mag people are referring to when they just mention 10a or 15d or just the clue.
I HAVEN'T a clue. I only do the Telegraph

You don't...people may have done the puzzle themselves and recognise a question but it is really not too bright.

It bugs me when someone puts Local , at least putting the paper/mag I
would know what way to think ~ um that possible sounds corny !!!
