You don't mention your age, but I'll assume you are a teenager?

Try putting an ad in the window of your local record shop if you have one - newsagents etc. if not - something like Lady Rapper with rhymes to go seeks like-minded musicians with w view to trying out some ideas - and your phone number.

Be prepared for some timewaters and comedians, but if you are persistant, and you will need to be - hopefully you can find some similarly minded people to try ideas with. You will quickly get an idea if you have the skills you need - and if so, good luck!

Hi RosaMaria

As I said, you will fiind out quitre quickly if this is something you are comfortable with and also if it something you can do with any hope of a future as a musician.

If yoou are good at it, your confidence will build as you go, and if you find that you are terrified performing in front of people, you will know that this is not the career for you, and there is nothing at all wrong with that.

Performing in public takes a certain set of skills which are born with, so if it turns out that you don't have them, and this is not for you, that is absolutely nothing to worry about - you will be in the majority.

You can always write for someone else - lots of people have highly successful careers writing material for others to perform, so consider that if the on-stahe part does not work out as you want it to.
