It does work- but no anagram solver will solve every anagram.
What's your anagram? If you know the number of words in your answer and you want words rather than names, places or TV programmes then this one is good:

agree sometimes the anagram solver doesn't come up with the solution to your flower anagrams, but hey I just googled one of your flower anagrams and guess what I think I found one, will get back to you in a minute

yep, lead me to a cat forum where someone was asking for solutions to flower anagrams :)
