MM Links May 2012 Week 4
This is “BigMac”.
First – an apology. My use of a proper name last week caused some anger / confusion. I apologise. In mitigation, the word ‘posh’ was used in my preamble.
Now to week four and my final week setting the links.
I was privileged indeed to be at Twickenham last Saturday for one of the best games of rugby I’ve ever seen. I have some sympathy for the Ulster fly-half but also admiration that his failed attempts at goal did not cause him to hang his head.
The impacts of the ‘big hits’, even from where I was sitting, made me wince. Today the game is faster and harder than ever it was, certainly since I stopped playing a few (surely, MANY, Ed?) years ago.
The weather was clement [for the avoidance of doubt, ‘Attlee’ is not a link word] and the company convivial, although to my mind there is still something wrong with a 5.00pm kick-off. Even so, I was glad to have my dark glasses.
Next year’s Heineken Cup final will be in Dublin and the plans are already beginning to gel. But it might be difficult to arrange as my son will be doing exams at that time. Thankfully, he’s not yet of an age to have to take a viva, although I suppose there is that element in any language course.
