The answers are living creatures either singular or plural.
The question is simply:
throne
It is neither peacock nor hornet as they are both correct for other questions. I have pondered this for weeks and can't get a satisfying answer. Any help appreciated.

Could the quiz setter possibly be so obscure as to have the answer Wasp for that question. Not everyone would have read the Millenium Trilogy. And surely it would not have been dragon either.
Yes,that fits,so it's back to the drawing board

I will be interested to discover what the correct answer is when the quiz ends on the 1st February. I even considered dace for throne (ie dais) but these words are not even pronounced the same way and also a dais is not a throne is it?
No, it's a platform.
so hornet is right for the millenium trilogy clue

stargazer, I searched for the name of the quiz + throne on another site, and it came up with this:

Stargazer,I meant you were correct with hornet-Lizbeth kicked the hornet's nest
... and hornet's not obscure? :-) I haven't read the Millenium Trilogy either, I've never heard of us, I would never have got that clue :-(

Not really all that well known, though.
boxy, I think the titles are pretty well known and the girl who kicked the hornet's nest is one of them, plus the girl with the dragon tattoo and the girl who something something. I haven't read them or seen the films either.
played with fire

I don't blame you Boxtops. A lot of the questions are not very appropriate for what I believe they are lookiing for in the answers.
