Asking For Answers
39 Answers
I know I'm going to upset some people but has anyone else noticed that there are a lot of requests for answers for new quizzes. The WIN TER and PROS and CONS quizzes don't close until the middle of March. I thought it was general practice not to ask for help (clues) until a week or two before closing date - or am I just being grouchy? !!

Too many quizzes are spoiled by the serial askers and it is difficult to avoid this because when you google during a search the answers usually appear - so I think possibly a charity could benefit by sticking to the no asking request. Just my view!!
Perhaps Quinie you didn't see at least one and I am sure there were more, who said do not ask for answers or clues on answer bank. This was from one I have done for a while but I did not do that one as I will not be told what to do with something I am paying to take part in. If people ask early surely that doesn't matter let them finish as soon as they want. Perhaps they have nothing else to do. Why complain. Enjoy quizzing instead.
What annoys me are those who hang about in the background ,rarely actually answer anything but are really quick to jump down the throats of us that do .
Why are they looking at AB then if they are so righteous and clever ?
And how are some us of to know when these quizzes end .
We unwittingly answer them and then get castigated for doing so ..

Margaretrae – If everyone adopts your attitude of only sending in your answers if you’ve managed to answer all the questions, then the current trend, where more quizzes are available by email on a pay when you send in your entry basis, will be reversed because the charities won’t see any money. Then we’ll all have to waste £1 in postage every time just to get a copy of the quiz. If you’re that desperate to find out the answers then send it in with as many done as you can manage and get a set of answers back with your marked sheet.
And you claim it’s not about the prizes although your attitude seems to suggest otherwise. Especially when coupled with questions you’ve asked in the past. For example on 17th May 2011 you posted ‘Why don't people advertising their quizzes state how much the prize is?’. Then on 8th June 2012 you asked a quiz setter ‘Can you tell me what the prize is? If I am going to spend time puzzling over 100 questions I would hope it would be worthwhile’. So the evidence would seem to suggest that your ‘I only send answers in if I’ve answered all the questions’ attitude is actually driven by your desire to win the prize.

Very interesting all the above, and of course it will never be resolved, each to thir own. I have requested, as politely as possible in the past that there be no asking, didnt make much difference, so have given up, however I do notice that the quizzes sell very smoothly it seems until a whole list are asked on here and then sales drop, I assume that people see no point sending for them once most answers have been asked. Maybe there is no connection, who knows. The last few I have done I have not bothered to add the no asking, there has been no significant change. Howeevr I do like to see sheets where there are gaps or obvious guesses, and they are all given the chance to win a random prize.
I have know tried email sales too, but I am not convinced theey will all be paid for, especially if quizzers only send in full sheets. They are a lot of work to set, if they are not going to be paid for I will go back to only postal requests, which is a shame, so we will see
