Can it really be the last weekend in February already? It seems like just yesterday that we were waking up to frosts - Oh! - that WAS yesterday.
This weekend, whatever the weather, our two guessing games will go ahead.
Firstly there is the MM links game set by one of our own. This month 'Emperor Kawakiri' is challenging you to guess his linkwords. An introduction will be posted in Q&P at 8:45 tomorrow morning and the challenge words will follow at 0:00.
You will have until 7pm on Sunday to post your guesses but early play is advised if you want to optimise your chances of claiming any bonus points.
The KM Links Game is run from Australia by seekeerz and is based upon whatever Kate Mepham (KM) chooses to highlight in the Saturday GK crossword in the Daily Telegraph and linked to whatever she chooses in the Monday Herculis crossword. Your job is to pre-empt her and guess the links before midnight on Sunday. The game is launched in Q & P early on Saturday morning and you can play anytime over the weekend with an equal chance of scoring points.
Both Seekeerz and I were caught out last weekend by regular players who played under a new name (without telling us) thus halving their chances of a win as scores were split over the two names. Fortunately Seekeerz was more in touch with what was happening and alerted me to the name-change shenanigans. I therefore wish to un-welcome Psybbo who turned out to be Sibton in disguise. Did anyone else choose a more obscure and less memorable name for themselves?
It is getting late so I should get this posted asap.
The shrubbery is now open for socialising.
Evening all.
I suppose it has been cold everywhere in the country - certainly has been here in the south of Surrey, although no snow
I scored my first point in the MM Links last weeekend, so obviously I won't be amongst the honours this month.
