Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

18A Brought forth staple food, by the sound of it --E- (4)

24A Bleak, solemn --S---E (7) - Thought it could be austere? The 5th letter gives the 2nd letter of 23D (see below)

29A Headgear used by bricklayer? ---T-R-O-R- (11) And the 2nd letter of this answer is also the last letter of 23D

18D Headgear for sailor? ----E- (6) The 1st letter is also the 1st letter of 18A (obviously!)

23D Irritates, annoys ---S/-- (4,2) I thought this could be wind up or stir up? But neither would fit with austere for 24A (if that's correct?)

But I now think 18D could be BOATER? Mainly because 24A Austere would give 18D as B-A-E-? (If it was BERRET it would mean that 24A would begin with R?). That's also using B from 18A BRED . What do you think, my crossword gurus?
