This quiz only closes on the15th July why are you asking for answers so early.
Question Author
ok,chorle9 i know its early to be asking, but perhaps there is someone willing to help even if you don't want to.
Just letting people who haven't got the quiz the closing date.
An anagram of slim powdery tree gives this writer's most famous character.
Anagram of "slim powdery tree" will give you a big clue, starts with Lord.
Obviously some people don't care about spoiling someones hard work in setting a quiz that people will stop buying when it all gets asked.

thanks everyone.
Chorley - go outside and enjoy the sunshine.
Don't be childish Sir Prize can't you see its far too early to be asking for answers to a quiz that closes on the 15th of July.

Just for the record no sunshine here.
Chorley - this is a question and answer site. Isn't it?

Not that old chestnut can't you come up with something original.
Chorley - your argument is weak. Your policing is irrelevant. Your comments are ridiculous. Your criticism is unfounded and your opinions are insignificant.

Meanwhile here’s an interesting quote:

‘’In Quizzes and Puzzles we occasionally have users decrying the posting of questions from a Quiz which has not been out very long or where the setter has asked those entering not to use site such as this. It is "dishonourable" to go against the wishes of the setter. However, we will not remove the question. This is a Q&A site after all. It is suggested that those wishing not to know the answer simply do not read the question.

Thanks for your time. Spare Ed

It seems to me that a lot of people on this site do not enter in the spirit of fair play. The only enthusiasm I see from some people is getting answers spoon fed to them and not putting any effort in to find the answers themselves.

I find your comments insulting and juvenile. I also notice that quizgran has nothing to say now she has got her answer for her "last clue".
-- answer removed --
Just for the record - I don't consider myself particularly bright but I've managed to do the whole of this quiz with just the help of my computer for research. I'm not saying I've got all the answers right, but I have answers I'm happy with.It is possible.
Thats exactly the point I was trying to make Roopower most of the answers could be found by using Google.
No - again you are wrong chorley9. You never mentioned Google.

Your impertinent and foolish grouse was why were people asking for help on a website named AnswerBank.

Your quote: ''This quiz only closes on the15th July why are you asking for answers so early.''

For your information - look on Google - and you will see there are competitions currently being promoted with closing dates in 2014. How can you insist that people delay their entries. Entering consumer competitions has become a popular and often profitable hobby. There are some people who devise a system whereby they keep spreadsheets of entries made. I am sure they will not be swayed by your argument that it is 'too early to enter such and such a competition'.

People use many resources in pursuing answers in their hobby and it is nice to see that AnswerBank figures prominently in their choice.

Chorley - go outside and enjoy the sunshine.
I don't wish to enter in a pointless and childish argument with you.

You will never see the point I'm making regards small charity quizzes not consumer competitions (except for current newspaper ones).

I also don't know how you feel that you can speak for everyone that uses Answerbank there are lots of people besides myself who find it annoying to see loads of answers given away to small charity quizzes a couple of months before the closing date. People who set quizzes and request please don't ask before a specified date don't like it either.
chorley9 - I trust you have read the viewpoint of the AnswerBank editorial team on this matter, and if you still find the issue annoying, perhaps re-read the final sentence.

It is suggested that those wishing not to know the answer simply do not read the question.

PS: I am not arguing, just setting directing you to the views of the majority - a shame you introduced a childish element into it.
