found a mention on the web say that it was SKIPTON at , hope this helps
it's me again  Skiptons platform is 200 yards long previosly known as Appleby West

Thanks kosoro.  I have just found out the answer may be York no 8 platform so some further research is necessary.

Appleby West is now Appleby on the Settle & Carlisle line and has nothing to do with Skipton

kosoro, do you have a link for that?

My husband thinks it could be the excursion platform at Scarborough but hasn't had chance to look further into it.
