At a pub quiz last night:

Which London Underground line intersects with every other line?

Now I thought it was the Central line, but the answer was something else, which indeed is correct. But I don't understand why Central wasn't also a valid answer.

Perhaps the setter was wrong - we often have arguments about answers in our pub quizzes, but if the question's been lifted from a quiz site, we have to go with that answer.

The Jubilee Line is the only line that intersects all others. The District Line meets all other lines except the Metropolitan Line; which it misses by approximately 20 m at Aldgate. If, however, the Hammersmith and City Line is considered as part of the Metropolitan, as it once was, then the District qualifies

Yes, Jubilee was the answer. it looks like Northern is valid as well. Not a good question then. Apparently the District almost qualifies as it is within 20m of the Metropolitan line at Aldgate.

yes, I can't see what the Central line doesn't interesect with, except the Emirates Air Line, which isn't exactly part of the underground.

the overground isn't the underground, by definition, but it crosses the Central line at Shepherd's Bush and Stratford

So it does. I was looking for possible explanations for Central Line not being the answer and thinking the setter must be including any line shown on standard tube maps.

Wiki appears to be wrong. It's tempting to edit it and get it right, which would at least show pub quizmasters the error of their ways.
