No best answer has yet been selected by quizmouse. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I'm sorry Quizmouse, I'm all for charity quizzes and ways to raise funds and I applaud your niece's efforts, but I think it's a bit rich of you to post this on a question and answers site. That's a question and ANSWERS site, when your entire time here is spent on slagging people off for asking for help.
Hardly my entire time on here but I see your point, sadly you cant see mine.
However, because the charity needs help it is one of the best ways to promote the quiz, and that is why I advertise it here. I wouldnt have to stipulate that if certain persons waited a decent period before asking an odd question, but this is not the case.
I am asked repeatedly by so many of those doing my quizzes to make it no asking, and since they support most of those I do, I feel it is the right thing to do.
Sadly i wont be getting your support, thats your choice.

I have to agree with Mojo-Jo-Jo about people asking for help. Some people do these quizzes to help raise money for these charities but do not have hours and hours to spend trying to solve the clues and, like me, sometimes cannot see the wood for the trees and need a little help. Also people who complain do not have to open the question and find the answers. They are obviously on the site to see the question there.
If you are only doing it to raise money for the charity you dont need to answer it all then do you. I see you do ask quizzkid but cant see where Mojo does so if they dont quiz they dont understand how some of us feel and if they do then they are doing it without help and so never need to ask so quizmouse's request shouldnt bother them
Its a discussion that will go on and on with no one knowing the answer

I have a copy of the quiz and am quite happy to do it but could you make your instructions more clear please. "all answers lead to names of animals" - do you want me to put the actual name of the animal or the word which is going to lead to the name. If I put the one I am thinking of it will give the game away regarding the animal, so if I just put number 60. clue Fluffy dessert perhaps you will know what I mean. There are others, but this one is quite a good example.
I don't object to anyone asking even a couple of questions but what I do object to is someone asking upto half or even more of a quiz when there is still a long time to go.I have seen on here quizzes that close in November and December being asked.I did tell quizmouse that I wasn't going to do her quizzes anymore because I felt people weren't trying but because she has now said no asking I will continue.I have bought this latest quiz and i have done a lot of it but shall 'enjoy' looking for the remaining answers. As smouse says we will never solve this problem.
I would just like to point out YES I do ask questions and have asked 21 since I joined the site in June 2005. I notice smouse you have asked 610 questions since you joined in Oct 2004. The fact still remains don't criticise those of us who ask from time to time for help and as I said in my last posting if you don't want to know the answers don't open the questions after all it is a question and answer site.
Quizzkid – if you have chosen to buy a quiz where the quiz setter says ‘no asking for help on the internet’ then in those circumstances do you, or do you not, think it’s reasonable to ignore that request and ask nevertheless? And if you do think it’s OK to ask, can you please explain why you think it’s reasonable to do so given that it was your choice to buy the quiz in the first place and if you didn’t like the ‘rules’ you didn’t have to buy it.

To my knowledge I have not asked any questions from a quiz sheet where it has specifically requested no internet help. I am only guilty of asking a question from a quiz that does not close until November, even then I have only asked for a starting point where to look not the answer itself. Let's remember that if it was not for the Answerbank posting these quizzes a lot of people would not know about them in the first place. These quizzes are fabulous for raising extra money for the charities, that is why I buy them, but also I love quizzing and if I am really struggling with a question it is nice to know that people out there are willing to help and when I can help someone else I do. As you point out it is my choice to buy these quizzes and I do abide by the rules of the quiz but I also think it a bit ironic that I find these quizzes on a Question and Answer site.

Quite a number of varying opinions there. However, the AnswerBank Editorial stand on this issue has been made clear.
‘’In Quizzes and Puzzles we occasionally have users decrying the posting of questions from a Quiz which has not been out very long or where the setter has asked those entering not to use site such as this. It is "dishonourable" to go against the wishes of the setter. However, we will not remove the question. This is a Q&A site after all. It is suggested that those wishing not to know the answer simply do not read the question.

smouse - what you keep posting is not a valid point.
Digest this . . . it explains why some your posts have been removed.
"Is it ok to report people when they post to complain about people requesting answers to quizzes? It's just the same handful of users moaning for the umpteenth time, not providing any help."
Yes please. Q&P is too big to "pop into" to see if anyone is being a nuisance.
