Partitioned may be right if the clue said something like "to be cordoned off"

Your paper may have an error in it. Someone else had a different version which was "cordoned (off)"

(Incidentally, I've noticed Pick Me Up clues almost always appear in Q&P rather than in Crosswords. Maybe it's something to do with the title builder.)
