Thanks to everyone - totally brilliant. I cannot choose a "Best Answer".

I thought that the idea of 'I saw three ships come sailing in' was amazing but it definitely says 1S3SCSI and not IS3SCSI (ie the number 1 and not the letter I at the beginnin).

Could be a typo I suppose - but any other ideas? (I originally thought that 8TIAO was a typo for eight tentacles ON an octopus but eight tones in an octave fits it perfectly).
