hotel history
I am trying to find out over what period of time it was open and how many did the hotel cater for and is a guest list available for Christmas 1922?
Any information gratefully received.

this may help you in your search (note spelling of Gildredge). Not aware of a hotel with this name today, but there is a pub called the Gildredge which may once have been a hotel. You may wish to contact them direct for any help. It is located in Terminus Road, next to the railway station. Good luck!
There is a guest list for the night of 3 April 1881, where the licensee is Harry Sutton (born c.1833), and a guest list for the night of 5 April 1891, where the licensee is Richard Sutton (born c.1865) (son of Harry). These are available in the census data for those years. Also contained are details of the licensees' families and the staff of the hotel on these dates.
I'm unsure whether the hotel is in the 1861, 1871 or 1901 censuses.
The East Suffolk Record Office also holds various documents pertaining to the Gildredge Hotel in their archives. The British Archives search facility is at http://www.a2a.org.uk
Cheers.
