There's an Aberdeen Park in Trinidad but it seems to be some houses. Agree with Emmie about Kingston but don't understand the last bit. There are so many Scottish place names (& people) around the world.

Thanks everyone and some really speedy responses. Think Aberdeen could be the correct answer to #2 as on further investigation there seems to be a granite connection, but any other suggestions would be greatly received. Keep thinking for #1. Also discovered I'd missed out a clue:
