These words sound the same but have different meanings and spellings
i.e. covering/animal = hair/hare

1. acclaim/master
2. yield/oracle
3. stir up/perception
4. height/annoyance
5. grasped/tribunal
6. smell/bring about

Many thanks in advance.

5 caught/court
5 That will be right scorpiojo, but what sort of accent would we need for that to be a homonym?
2 profit / prophet
1. laud/lord
1. laud / lord?
I thought they sounded the same, FF
4 peak/pique
3 incite/insight
3 Incite/Insight
6 reek wreak
To me caught rhymes with bought whereas court rhymes with sport. But maybe they are close enough. I'm sure it's the answer though.
but what have bought and sport got to do with the question?
If ou see my earlier post i was querying whether court rhymes with caught
it does here in the east midlands :-)
..and in Yorkshire LOL
So does sport rhyme with bought in Midlands/Yorkshire?
yes but i think a true homonym has to share the first letter
.. apart from my suggestion for number 6
Yes they do, but they should also rhyme, I thought.
Anyway, I'm off to work now- I just hope anyone there from East Midlands/Yorkshire can understand my accent!
