Cryptic Crosswords

Can anyone explain to me about cryptic crosswords because I really can't understand them! Is there a website or anything that I can use to help me? Thank you!

If you type "Solving cryptic crosswords" into Google you will get loads of sites.The DT also publish excellent books on solving their crosswords.The thing with cryptics is that more often than not you have to understand the mindset of the compiler.

Hello confusedpink. Like you I don't fully understand cryptic and only started doing them this is an  excellent site and once you get a few answers to get started can usually finish one, Sat Telegraph have both G.K and cryptic also Daily Mail which people on this site do. I've always found them helpful when asked for answers I've also found   ONE ACROSS  & ONELOOK DICTIONARY.  Very good sites.
