I'm a contestant on Channel 5 quiz show brainteaser in a couple of weeks, I'm not that good at the first round Scramble where a word is mixed up, eg.

LE EST CT RU IND AB
is INDESTRUCTABLE

Anyone got any tips or lots of examples I can play with to practise, or no a website with some? Thanks

You could try getting someone to use an anagram generator to make up some questions for you
You can found one at

Good luck
hi paulobrad.  Is the show at Oxford ?  I was on that show last year its not easy to find and limited parking I parked at the pub next door to studio. anyway don't worry about it as you have a practice first and the studio is very small  its good and once there you get into the swing of it, the crossword round is good  I did OK but got 5 less so didn't go to second round, they give you a mug and pen and there's a snack they were friendly would like to go again, I was on the Golden Shot in the 70's and won the silver prize. Have fun and if you want to ask any questions will help you. all the best.   K.

Hi paulobrad.

Sorry to spoil your party but the example you give is not correct.  The spelling is   indestructible

I cannot think of any anagram for the letters you have so maybe it was a misprint.

Hi,

i've done brainteaser , weakest link and crystal maze.

I practised for brainteaser by taping the show everyday while I was at work tne n practising getting the anagrams before the contestants.

Something else you might try is www.oneacross.com which has an anagram section. As the answer above ,but you can put in some random letters with a sprinkling of vowels and consonants and try and make a word. Then put these into anagram finder and see if you got anywhere near a whole word

Last tip - go on Google and just type in "Anagrams"  and see what it gives you.
