I think grasscarp has provided the answer to number 8, but the setter of the quiz might have got it wrong, becasue the ITV series was Animal Kwackers.

thanks folks - yes, I'll go with Animal Quackers. Not so sure of Perry Mason tho as there are more letters needed for the first two words !! Private Eye fits fine tho - so was there another Private Eye ??
