One very disappointed practitioner of risky auto-eroticism? (6)

 C_O_E_

Think it might be CHOKED or CHOKER. Which, if either, and why? Many thanks, in anticipation, for any help received

choker describes being disappointed

"we were winning 2 nil at half time and then they got 3 goals in the last 10 minutes it was a right choker"

and auto eroticism can include choking your partner whilst having sex to heighten sexual pleasure, although why it does is beyond my understanding.
Auto-eroticism means doing it to yourself!
Context of question indicates'choked' surely. (gasp)
No, the context of the question indicates CHOKER ie one who chokes (One very disappointed which presumably is the definition). It's a bad clue, whatever: if CHOKED is the right answer, the definition in the clue should be reworded.

I disagree Quizmonkey--'one very disappointed etc. etc.'-would presumably be 'choked'?

....however,having read it again ,I'm not sure which is right-must be the lack of oxygen.
No, Grunt: 'Very disappointed' would indicate an adjective obviously, ie CHOKED. 'One very disappointed' indicates a person (noun) who is disappointed, ie a CHOKER as 'to choke' can mean ' to be very disappointed'.

But probably not worth discussing any further as it's such a poor/ambiguous clue!
Agreed

No idea about chokers.

But what is 5d: Brenda's man in frolic opener, slipping length in

f-u-k--

Brenda: queen, frolic opener: f. Length will likely be l. Think I may have cracked it: flucker.

But don't know what one of those is. Any ideas on 14a?
