We played Trivial pursuit at Christmas and my o/h is still going on about one particular question so I'd like to see what you lovely people think is the correct answer.
What is the lowest number, in its written form, to contain the letter A.
So, one..two..three etc.
I gave the answer on the card but he who knows best is adamant that its wrong.

One hundred and one?
A thousand?
Thousand
One hundred and one.
Four and twenty,
Ok, I'm a swan not a blackbird.
If you allow "and" as in one hundred AND one, then surely you must allow one AND twenty as in four and twenty blackbirds...
thousand
How else would you say 101? People don`t say one and twenty - they say twenty one.
I really can't see the problem here.

Sit down in a chair and quietly start counting to yourself.....one. two, three...............and register which is the first "a" that you encounter................one hundred and one.

Can I change my answer to one hundred and one please
LOL...copycat ^^^^
Surely it is zero (naff all)
It must be 101. So what was the 'correct' answer, hau kola?
sqad, I changed my mind after reading your answer simply because I realisedf the error of my way....I wasn't sitting on a chair when I gave the first one
I'm with the husband...because your argument is wrong.
A bit harsh from the spelling police there

101
One and a half?
There is no way of writing 101 without using the letter 'a' so it must be correct.
Hopkirk, that wouldn't work as there in no lowest fraction.
