Bert Trautmann was famous for playing in goal witha  broken neck. Apparently he was born in Bremen, Germany which doesn't seem to help much! Sorry.

No lady in san gimignano - there is a tart called a Tuscan Tart but this is a savory tart and not a sweet, so I don't know whether it would count ot not?
