Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

I have always understood that the basic rule is to make a new word (or words) using a letter (or letters) that are already on the board. I recently played a game in which my opponent did the following:-
From the word cake[vertically] they added an "S" to make "cakes" and then used the"S" [horizontally] to make another word---eg.story. ---surely that is having two turns. Am i correct?

But he had 'S T O R Y' on his rack with 'CAKE' on the board? Then he's laid one word, creating another at the same time - perfectly valid move.

Cake was already on the board. He then added story after the e at right angles to make two words, cakes and story. Sounds OK to me, although I am not a Scrabble player.

That seems quite a basic acceptable scrabble move. The real experts, given the right circumstances, can add to 2 words at least and create a new one for 3 scores if the tiles fall right.
