iron maiden (is almost in there) !!!
Question Author
I've rechecked individual answers, and the H should be an I, which brings us closer to Iron Maiden, but otherwise all seem OK.

The Battle of Britain was the German air force's attempt to gain air superiority over the RAF from July to September 1940.
The letter L is correct (in fact they all seem okay at first glance) so it can't be Iron Maiden.

Baldric was right- your H should be an I but the others are right

M A N L I O R ? E Y
Well fathomed out.

Mint Royale is an electronic music act from Manchester, England.
Yes says in the link.
Thanks, Mamyalynne. It's an odd choice as they haven't done anything as far as I know for well over 5 years

Having made the effort to go through it, I was going to have my say!

;o)
Of course - the 'well fathomed out' was to both.

Agreed FF, rather obscure.

Thanks everyone, especially fiction-factory.
Happy to help. Yes, pretty obscure- although they did play on the Geoege Samson (BGT dancer) number 1 single in or around 2008
It seems the last time they were mentioned on AB was 2003! http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Music/Question25357.html
