Can you work out this?

If john was the second, Edward was the sixth, Henry was the eighth and George the eleventh, then, in the same context, who was the first?

I don't was the outright answer. Just a clue.

Roman numbers was used     

George the second.      James was the first.

The initial response is not right. Roman numerals are not given in the question.

I don't think it involves kings, but I could be wrong.
