We have one of these fitted above our shower and it is activated by switching on the bathroom light What the problem is I cannot see how to remove the light bulb as I have no information on the unit. The bulb is shaped like a mushroom and have tried pushing it up and turning it but obviously worried as I a not sure of damaging it. Sorry I Cannot be mor explicit on the unit but any suggestions will be appreciated.
I can only think of two options, it will unscrew if its a screw fitting, push it up and turn anti-clockwise if its a bayonet fitting. They can be a bit stiff if not changed for some time, particularly in a bathroom, you might need to be a bit rough.
is the light built into the extract grille? these are normally low voltage lamps and these normally just push in to the lamp holder . you should be able to remove it by pulling the lamp straight down.
Alas due to my age and having been quite ill over the last 6 weeks it is difficult for me to check exactly the fitting but as I said initially the bulb is mushroom shaped and on checking it with a torch it appears that there is a cover around the "stem" of the light bulb which is fitted into the fan inlet.
Well my clever wife managed 2 days ago to remove the bulb. It was a halogen 12v bulb and the end did break but she used a cotton bud to clean the fitting out. What a clever girl.
