Giving Up

I buy Chat, Take a Break and That's Life every week and faithfully work through the puzzles and then enter them via the internet. Don't read many of the articles, as I find them depressing. I have been doing this now for over eight years and never won a prize. So I made a New Year Resolution that if I did not win a prize by the end of January I would give up throwing good money after bad. I am keeping my resolution. (Sob) Thought you would like to know - well, I have to tell somebody!

I was the same for years Star , only occasionally read a recipe or two.


Browse the Quiz round up each month and have some variety - still can't guarantee a win , though I did get £20 from one in December.

I gave up a few years ago starone but I've still got the clipboard from the first ever issue. The only thing I won was for a picture of my grandson.

The problem is, I think, starone, that the answers to these are easily found on websites/discussion forums and many people submit multiple entries (it's so easy to enter using 10 email addresses) -so there are possibly hundreds of thousands of entries each week meaning we have so little chance

Before I'd used a computer, 3 years ago, I used to get quite excited if I managed to finish The Sunday Times Cryptic. It was just a question of whether I'd get the gold pen or a lousy silver one. Now I can see why I was always, bitterly, disappointed. ;)

Thanks everyone for your answers. They cheered me up a bit, but after 8 years I think I have had enough. Of them, anyway - might try and find an alternative as mamya suggests.

have done TAB for a number of years and thought of giving up, but then my luck changed, I used to post them and then started to send the answers by text, have now won 4 times, though still chasing the big one..... got to be in it to win it LOL
