Good morning everyone - well we've had just about every imaginable form of weather over this last week ...some peace and quiet would be nice !!
A heads-up for everyone - each Saturday morning I post the clues for our link words ...it's usually the one before this .....because frequently those clues contain info helpful in selecting your answers or perhaps things to avoid ...so I do suggest you check the post out so as not to waste possible points :))
Today's links ...
DERBY
OYSTER
NORFOLK
SPICE
As always, everyone is very welcome to take part - just be sure to post your entry before midnight Sunday, then do remember the results will be posted early Monday morning so have a look and see how you fared.
Week two is with us, and there's only four rounds this month so get your skates on in order to make a good start or it'll be over before you know it ....,so Good Luck to All, and we're underway ....
Er, how does one have a go at something that seems to makes no sense?
Like the examples from others above, I can think of words that pair up with 'Derby', 'oyster', 'Norfolk' and ''spice' but I can't see where the 'links' bit comes in!
Chris, you're being pedantic !! the links form the answers to the Telegraph Saturday GK crossword and the Herculis on Monday ...however we've highjacked the idea to make a game where we try to predict what those answers will be and I award points to those correct selections.
Occasionally we're all way out and other times there've been all correct matches but they're not that frequent ...it just keeps our faculties in working order ...we hope !!
Crown Derby
Oyster shell
Norfolk Island
Spice trade
Living just down the road from Norfolk, it's hard for me to think of anything about the county with which we Suffolk folk have an intense rivalry that's not too rude. For example, we're happy to say that they're all good people up there across the boundary - or, as we put it here, "They're all Norf'k-n-good" ;-)
How the hell has someone in Oz come up with what (living just down the road from the county of Norfolk) I only know as the former name of a local bus company???
Oh we're nothing if not a surprising bunch !! And you'll get the hang of it and get hooked ....or not, doesn't matter ....but there's some familiar faces here that you'll recognise from cb, etc and we none of us bite, so welcome !! :))
