By my reckoning you should be able to buy 192 of these, in old money, for £1
but if Norman Tebbit was the shopkeeper he might use his favourite phrase.

240 old pennies in a pound
Farthing = a quarter of a penny

One bike = a penny farthing

192 penny farthings = (192 x 1d) + (192 x 1/4d) = 240

If you divide 240 (the number of old pennies in a pound) by 1.25 (a penny plus a quater of a penny , a farthing) you get 192
