If the Br?t is correct then with any word in place of brat in the clue your answer would work. A typo by the setter ?

It's a weird clue if that's all it consists of, but I think the word tilt has something to do with the head covering lacrosse players wear.

The BRI could come from Brat Run In To if in and to are shown as separate words

It was the Brit Oval before it was renamed the Kia Oval. (It has also been the Fosters Oval)
Oval is the definition.
The parsing is based on initial letters (openers?) but I'm not sure about the T or why it says "an" opener

If boomerang would clarify the clue, it would help. TALL looks feasible except that 14ac comes before 16ac. Perhaps 10d needs attention too.
