No, would class it as track, field and marathon, longest race being 50k walk.

I don't think swimming and cycling come under athletics events..

I think the question needs to be clarified ie longest men's athletic race in the Olympics, or World Championships, etc.
I believe there is a race which goes coast to coast across America, but is it recognised by International Athletics boards.
