Where Was I? 15/10

A bright and sunny good morning GG,
I almost had to rub my eyes to make sure that this week's quiz was not a re-run of seven days ago.
Another roman town plus its small museum, a RAF station, and various features of a canal?
Not too much work required to find the answers - everything confined to a very small area of the map!

Yes, very straightforward today - quickest in a long time, as it's not far from where I live, and I've been to all the places mentioned, apart from the motor museum, and watched cricket at the ancestral home this summer. In fact I was where the playwright got drunk only yesterday!
The prize hotel looks rather fab. I've got an old road map that I use for this puzzle, and circle the places mentioned (circles everywhere now), and I see that I've circled Brill, so he must have used that at some point in the past - I think there's a windmill there.....

Agreed, The Pointer does look a bit swish! The menu shows a "sharing dish" of rump steak @ £60 (incl: chips cooked in dripping!!). Do you think that is between two, four or six? Brill appears to have had a number of windmills located there throughout history.
As for this week's location I shall be in the area (a tad north - though) at a golf tournament, this week.
I see your point regarding the town's name, as the identifier clue could suggest either. In such cases, perhaps it may be prudent to put both - although I confess, this time, I have answered using the English version - since I do remember one puzzle when a fort / town / settlement was located on / near one part of Ermine Street / Watling Street / Fosse Way. On that occasion, the quiz specifically asked for the Roman name. We'll find out next Sunday!
