Annexe was right, by the way- it was an answer to Q3- sounds like "an X" - an X comes before Y in the alphabet

1 is frustrating as there can't be many things it could relate to other than perfume/fragrance or flowers.
2- I'm sure it ends in y but oratory is the best i could come up with but confident does not on its own mean orator. I can't see a case for foundrt or factory
