^^^ I was thinking along the same lines. If you exclude 'officer cadet' there are, indeed, 10 officer ranks:

This suggests 11 from colonel to field marshal, but maybe Colonel doesn't count as it's referred to as a staff officer rather than general officer

From your own link, F-F:
"Peacetime promotions to the rank of field marshal have now been discontinued".
