3 Marilyn Monroe anag Mary (mother of Christ) + Romeo nil (nothing)
3 Marilyn Monroe
3 marylin monroe
2 Jonhes Pinto?
1 Abraham Lincoln
3 is an anagram of Mary and nil (rev) on Rome
Johnes Pinto is a Brazilian footballer.
Must be Romeo rather than Rome though, cashier, to give second O in Monroe. Is clue not quite right?
On rome makes Monroe
Mary nil (rev) makes Marilyn

There's no N in romeo
yeah, two Ns. Thanks. Didn't spot that. I can't do anagrams in y head
Nice one Cash; now, are you going to tell Jo ^^^ that she's, errr, not quite right. ;0))))
Don't know about that Captain, does she bite? I just hope JohnGolf goes with my spelling of Jonhes Pinto.
That Jonhes Pinto seems a strange choice though alongside the two other very well known names. Was he that well known outside Brazil? I don't think he played for the Brazil national team
Don't know ff, perhaps the setter is a big sports fan. It's the only thing anagram solver came up with.
2 The end part fits Astle (Jeff)
Yes, can see a case for Astle but can't see the Jeff yet
I read it as not Josephine, upset, (an anagram) take the last e off. Can see Astle but nothing else.
Agree with that Cashier- but am not convinced as the Jonhes person doesn't seem famous to me. But I can't improve on it
How about anagram of Josephin with Last.
Joseph Stalin.
How do you arrive at Abraham Lincoln for number 1?
