Okay, thanks. Well in that case there are loads of solutions. As you posted, I had just found one, but using indices too, which used the numbers in the right order (-3+5)^7 +10 =138 Then divide by 25 and multiply by 75 gives 414. Boom

Can brackets be used? Indices? Do we use the order of operations (BIDMAS) or just work left to right. I doubt it's a simple left to right because if you work backwards from 414 you cannot divide by the 75; you could add subtract but then you'd need to add/subtract the 75 too. Starting at the end with 414 you could multiply by 75 and divide by 25 giving you 1242; subtract the 10 to give you 1232; that's divisible by 7 giving 146,but i can't finish it off to get back to 3.
Or start with 414, divide by 75 and multiply by 25 giving 138. I'll try that route.
