A lot of enjoyable castle-hunting this morning - that revolt "caused at least twenty castles in England to be recorded as demolished". Blimey. Knew roughly where to look as the Scots were involved, but a few red herrings caused need for a second coffee. Surprised he didn't mention the 2.2 -mile restored railway beside the road from the first castle to the third.
Perhaps Mr Newsom is planning to feature such elements in future puzzles to delight the railway "buffs" or maybe he thought that to include that particular one this week might dilute the challenge of finding answers from the scant clues given? It will be interesting to see how the themes develop and compare with the escapades of Mr Fautley and friends? So far, I think they have been quite enjoyable.
