I will add that there's no one more disappointed than me when quizzes are asked so soon in the proceedings, but if we then make that a reason to hush them up it will defeat the object - raising funds.
The asker has basically asked for all the answers.
What is the point of downloading a quiz if you aren't going to do it?
Possibly the £25 prize?

Solution?

Don;t advertise quizzes?

I shall keep posting details from organisations that give them out on websites and other setters with their permission.
By offering a prize, the organisers acknowledge that having an incentive for people to take part is likely to increase sales. You pay your money, raising funds for the charity and that is it. That is the important part. - More proceeds for the charity.

If the compilers didn't agree with this, then there would be no prize offered and probably very few sales.

There is no difference asking on a website than asking friends and relatives. How are you going to police people's entries. The best well supported charity quizzes eg The Rainbow Quiz, don't even try!

They acknowledge that people have different abilities and don't care about how the answers were obtained, provided they pay their entrance money.
I actually prefer having to pay to get a copy by email/post up front - that way I know I have contributed already and whether I complete or overshoot the close date (happens) they have my donation.

A few like this one still take people on trust.

I KNOW this is a question and answer site but to post a request for all the answers for a quiz someone has spent a fair amount of time and effort in compiling, is by any standard unreasonable.
Almost three months until the closing date too!
Please don't encourage your children to do this at school even if you find it acceptable yourselves.
Who is that last sentence addressed to?
If cryptichick wants to ask any more questions that is her prerogative, and I will be happy to try and help her.

I find your comments rude!
I won't help so early on and indeed only gave a slight clue here, which went unnoticed.

I'm not sure who has said it's acceptable to ask an entire quiz three months early - it isn't.

Regardless, to others doing it - good luck, it's a great little quiz.
Sorry, was trying to be flippant but obviously missed the mark.
my apologies to all!
Did you download it JJ109? If so will you be paying to enter it?

I am only asking for help with this quiz as I'm finding it a really tough one. Even if I get help with all the answers I always still pay to enter to help the charity.
Smouse - whatever I do is up to me and doesn't concern you. Please keep your nose out of my affairs!
//There is no difference asking on a website than asking friends and relatives.//

Totally illogical statement.
Sorry Angie, I disagree, neither are being totally completed by the entrant. Some people have more friends and family, and have an advantage. Some of those friends and family may also research or ask on websites such as AB.....

There is no difference!
Disagree. If I ask a friend or relative if they know the answer to a question, they are only telling me, no one else will know. If I post a question on AB or another website and get an answer, that answer will be available to anyone who searches on Google.
If that is what you do then you are also cheating Angie! You are wanting to get an advantage to "win the prize" and are not bothered about the joy you get from solving it yourself. What you should do if you don't know an answer is to research it yourself.
Brilliant. Just change track when you’re losing an argument. And please don’t call me a cheat.
Not at all, asking on websites and asking friends and family are both forms of cheating, just different forms, but there is no difference, BOTH are cheating. I didn't call you a cheat Angie, I just said that people that ask others are also cheating. Not only that, but if these people also complain about others "cheating" then they are hypocrites also!
i think we have to agree to disagree. As far as the original point is concerned, you clearly can’t or won’t see what you say is illogical. My point was never about cheating, after all, everyone who asks a quiz or crossword question on here is doing that. Oh and you did call me a cheat, read your comments again.
