Well done sanmac, I never heard of those trousers before and I'd be like you and just answer a question, if chloe's letter count is incorrect, then that sounds correct, well done :)
I love quizzes...once upon a time I would have trawled through books at home or in the library for answers...now I use the internet....
I may be wrong but see nothing wrong with asking for help here..... :-)
I can see both sides but I do think if a setter asks not to ask on the internet then ignoring it is not that far removed from a pub quizzer nipping to the loo with their phone.
As I said, Mamya....I may be wrong....but for me it's a little like looking for our new bathroom fittings......once we'd have wandered from store to store....now we're googling about....bit like looking for answers to a puzzling quiz question.
And it does draw attention to the quiz...well it certainly has for me.....I get many more quizzes from seeing them on AB....buy them for my quizzing friends and myself....x
Surely Gness it is no different if the quiz setter clearly states that he/she doesn`t want anyone to ask for help on internet sites? It is not the fault of the ones who answer as they wouldn`t know.
Not for me, Fairlight.....at a pub quiz it's the team knowing or quickly working out the answers to beat other teams. If the team can't come up with an answer within the time limit....tough....you don't win the two bottles of not so good wine.
With the type of quiz Chloe is doing it's taking time to find the answers.....and when you are well and truely stuck...ask on AB....as I have said....I may be wrong but I have been in the position where I've been tearing my hair out over one question and just had to ask... that's so much better than not asking and just giving up..... :-)
I have to admit that I've never heard of them previously also. The OP mentioned 'pants', so I thought of 'jean' and then looked up a list of jean-pant makers and found 'Bonobos'.
I too have been tearing my hair out at times gness but I would not ask if the quiz setter requests me not to. I just have sleepless nights and wait (not patiently I add) with anticipation for the answers :)
Not patiently you say, Fairlight......you have more patience than I....but then at my age I daren't risk waiting and dying before I find out....Lord that would be frustrating..... :-)
