2 could be 'Whisky Galore!'. In the book by Compton MacKenzie, the ship is the SS Politician, but in the film (starring Gordon Jackson among others) it was the SS Cabinet Minister.

Just checked...got that a bit wrong. The Politician was a real ship that really sank carrying whisky during WW2 and Compton MacKenzie used the 'story', but but changed the ships name. Sorry!
