Why do people say 'working days'
Everyday is a working day in this era

Surely it should be, not including saturdays / sundays

Well, you’re right on a way, but I would guess that most working people still work Monday to Friday.
I don't... I call them weekdays, as do most people I know. When you include retired people, night workers, shift workers, children, unemployed, sick, disabled,part-time workers, etc etc. It's hard to believe that most of the population are at work Monday to Friday.
My daughter has two jobs. Her 'working days' are Mon to Fri. She calls her other job 'shifts'
Apparently most Europeans still work a Monday to Friday week, with figures varying from 61% to 77% according to a chamber of commerce study.
Working days is a term usually used by banks etc.e.g allow x number of working days for your refund to appear in your account.
A Bank Holiday can mean a particular week has only 3 or 4 working days.
