This has come round again and, as ever, I am struggling a bit. So any suggestions welcome.
Under heading "Women - famous and infamous": Titled girl with chalet played it long (4,9); Did she inspire fear on stage - that's the question (8,5)
Under heading "Communications": Be equipped to succeed online (4,4,1,1,5)

Thanks for all of your suggestions so far. There is one item remaining from my original post: Under heading "Communications": Be equipped to succeed online (4,4,1,1,5). The pattern is very peculiar, with two single letter words. They could , I suppose, something like I T or A I, but I have no real idea. Any thoughts?

Many thanks Scorpiojo and Semajnai. Spirit writing certainly fits the clue well, but I cant find any reference to its meaning! Is it the same as ghost writing?

A couple more. Under heading "Place names": High churchman beached here? (11); under heading "A phew frames": self-satisfaction of topiarist (2,4,2,4,7). As ever, more than happy to help out anyone else stuck on this quiz, if I can...

Thank you Wizzy67 - must be right, although could be "to look to one's laurels". All the other place names at in the UK (England in fact), so I think it highly likely this one is too. Scorpiojo, the answer is definitely a single word with 11 letters - the setters of this quiz never get it wrong. I had thought of Bishops Rock...

Wizzy67 - spooky, I had just come across Rottingdean while wandering electronically around the coastline. Probably right, although a bit risqué for the people who set this quiz - they are heavily involved an in Old Alresford church and the money raised through the quiz goes to the church restoration fund.

Struggling on with quite a few still to go...
I have still got nowhere with the Communications clue (Be equipped to succeed online (4,4,1,1,5)).
There is another one under "Communications": Tricky choice for holding correspondence (5,5).
And one under "A Phew Frases": eye-catching way to treat wrinkles (3,3,9).
Anyone else need help with any of the other clues? I have possible answers to some.
