I am really struggling with the location this week, clues have lead me to the south west, and also the east of England. Would really appreciate any additional clues to get me going again, as a starting point, please.

The name of the nearby river is given explicitly in the last paragraph of the puzzle, along with a phonetic clue to the start of the town's name
Yes, there are always rather groan-inducing clues in the puzzle now - bring back Chris Fautley!
Nooo, I enjoy spotting the subtle clues, usually with hindsight! The "Who?" at the start of last week's puzzle was brilliant
