Many thanks,Helewel, Mallyh, Bookbinder, Mamyalynne, Thecorbyloon and Elliemay1 for your gracious help. Captain 2, there is no theme to this quiz. This kind of puzzle is quite new to me. It seems interesting and challenging as it calls for great awareness of expressions and general knowledge. I am going to embark on a study of past contests in this area for the future. Meanwhile any ideas what the last one can be? I have been guessing: “Two wheel-steering in car”, but this does not seem to mean much! 2 WS in C
Matakari, there have been so many of these quizzes over the years that some of the more recent ones have involved more and more obscure links, subjects, phrases. I personally don't feel they're as rewarding as crosswords, nor do you really learn much as you go along. Often you know the answer or you don't, whereas in a crossword you can work on the component parts and come up with the answer or even part of the answer. Still, if you've developed an interest, you'll find lots of stuff (and many of the answers) online.
