Lode 'sounds' to be good, but there are 4 possible locations. I'll try them out.

Wow - almost a dead heat, but Jackdaw must have had her/his beak just in front. Congratulations all the same to Margo & Snoopy.

Solving the puzzle requires finding the correct location out of the four 4-letter grid positions. I find it best to do a letter count for each of the possible letters. The Setter can always play games to complicate this but today the most obvious was indeed the letter E. The only striking feature was the use of a slightly unusual word containing the Q.
