Many thanks, all! Now, on to the
topical verse!
Glad we could help (...), Matakari. The 'topical' nature of the verse is helped by several of the unclued entries - 42 A and 7 D, for example. It'd be great if you got it finished off.
Question Author
Thanks for the hint, NACW, I'm having a good look at the Unclueds, especially the two you mentioned.
Thanks, Matakari. I'd be absolutely delighted if you finished this off, without needing us to give you some Unclued Entries or half/all of the verse!
Question Author
This is the final clue for which I would like Hints/Answers,
please. Then, I'm on my way to discover the topical verse!
Thanks in advance!

Matakari, hope you have fun 'on your way to discovering the verse'. You've had loads of perimeter puzzles over the years and you must be a seasoned hand at looking out for words/part words in the grids. It'll be a rewarding experience... this is my motivational speech!
Just a slight hint for you - think of the official publication date of this week's magazine.
Question Author
Thanks, NACW, for the motivational speech! I'll get
there!
Can anybody please help me with my last one .......

45a. Intertwine, in broad Scots. (5) ?r?i?
